About
2AM-DM are Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Aksel Krystad, and British-Norwegian singer, lyricist and songwriter Robin Howard. They write and produce music from, and to, the heart. Heartcore. Favouring intuition over perfection, and, like their name – inspired by romantic and perhaps even desperate nighttime messages – they aim to be honest and unfiltered with their heart-on-their-sleeves pop-rock with roots in the 2000’s and epic ambitions.
2024 was the year Aksel and Robin met, formed 2AM-DM, signed with a management, a record company and a booking agent. October saw the release of their debut single «We Both Smoke Again» and a noticeable uptake in DM’s. On release the track was added to New Music Friday lists in over 15 countries, including the UK and the US. Unheard of for a debut single from an unknown act, let alone one from Norway.
2AM-DM were referred to as shooting stars, were added to editorial playlists and national radio. They did their first interviews, including UK radio, and were booked to their first festival even before they played their debut show with a full band in Oslo, Norway. Followed by one in Stockholm, Sweden..
Norwegian national daily Dagsavisen wrote of them that they «evoke all the best bands who reigned supreme in the early 2000’s.» Perfectly in line with the 2AM-DM concept and sound which is based on the band pop that ignited their love for music. Referencing bands such as Coldplay, The Killers and Kane, Robin and Aksel, both from Oslo and in their 20’s, are aiming for our hearts with emotion- and intuition driven music.
2AM-DM kicked off 2025 with the 10. January release of sophomore single «Golden Hour» and performances at the Trondheim Calling festival and support act for Nothing But Thieves at Sentrum Scene later that same month. February sees the release of «Hypotheticals», and more singles to be released circling into their debut album in September.
