City Parking

About

City Parking are a post punk, spoken word duo from Sheffield and Newcastle. In October 2022, vocalist and bass player Jade and guitarist Dan wrote the demo for their first track ‘It’s Mad Round Here’ and uploaded it online. The track instantly gained support from fellow artists on the Sheffield music scene such as producer and mixer Dean Honer and Reverend and The Makers. They released their debut EP on 31st March 2023 which gave ‘It’s Mad Round Here’ it’s first radio play from Christian Carlisle at BBC Introducing Sheffield after the pair uploaded it on the website. The track was eventually picked up by Steve Lamacq and he has since been a huge supporter of the band. They were the featured artist on Steve’s New Music Fix show and have appeared twice on Lamacq’s Roundtable gathering high scores from Baxter Dury and Reverend and the Makers. The band put out their second release in September 2023 featuring the single ‘Carl’ which was played by Yard Act on Jack Saunder’s Future Sounds show on BBC Radio 1.
Currently the band are doing regular gigs and in the process of writing for their debut album. They are performing at Tramlines in Sheffield in July and recently performed at The Lexington for their 15th birthday after being invited to play by Steve Lamacq.
