LibraLibra

About

“Anti-authoritarian and resolutely individual, LibraLibra come bursting out of the traps at every opportunity, constructing these rattling, roaring blasts of sound.” – CLASH

A chaotic postmodern Frankenstein’s monster, LibraLibra sits simmering in the fractured space between art-pop, electronic and punk. From bursting house parties, to supporting Psychic TV at Heaven, to headlining the Brighton Dome, LibraLibra is a DIY collective with an uncompromising creative vision that holds up a cracked mirror to the chaos of modern life.

Several weeks of working with producer SPACE (IDLES, Never Not Nothing, Jamie Lenman) saw the birth of their 2020 self-released debut EP ‘ Hail Mary’ championed by Melita Dennett from BBC Introducing The South and receiving praise from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music. Their follow up EP ‘Modern Millennial’ saw continued support from BBC Radio 6, BBC Introducing & Radio One, receiving critical acclaim from tastemaker, award winning podcaster and best selling author Markus Parks “Our band this week is LibraLibra, seriously this band is gonna blow up, I dig this song its f**king amazing” – Markus Parks, No Dogs In Space.

LibraLibra’s forthcoming singles show a further honing in of their sound, moving further towards the electronically influenced as well as further exploring their more ballad driven side heard in songs like the fan favorite ‘Listerine’, all the while keeping their abrasive punk edge in this collection of new material. The first release of this new batch of songs entitled ‘Frenemies’ is a tune that effortlessly glides from dramatic Cello quartet to thrash metal in less than a minute. These new songs see the band move away from a humor laced, tongue in cheek,  sarcastic social commentary to a darker and more mature place of self reflection about relationships, loss and the rare but precious moments of cathartic triumph.
