Nerves are a noise band from Maigh Eo and Cill Mhantáin, Ireland.

Their music has been described as “a blast of corrosive sound” and “a brutalist slab of heavily effected droning guitar and bass”.

The band released their debut EP Glórach to high praise in March 2024, and have since gone on to play a string of raucous, ear shattering shows across Ireland and Europe, gaining a reputation as a particularly devastating live act.

Their music mixes many styles of experimental alternative music and explores themes of mental health, substance abuse and societal degradation through a uniquely western Irish viewpoint, helped by their use of sampling, mainly taken from old Irish media and folklore archives.

The band have been likened too and supported many of the best in the crop of modern forward thinking punk acts such as Maruja, Gurriers, Deadletter, Talk Show, legacy acts like The Jesus Lizard, and featured at festivals such as Left of the Dial, Other Voices and Electric Picnic in 2024.

In 2025 the band are set to release their second EP, an intensely personal and sonically intense project that showcases the bands progression since their debut project and finds the band emerging with a sound that feels unique to them amongst the modern wave of guitar based acts.
