Honas

About

Born on the west coast of Ireland, HONAS attributes his openness in personality and style to the unique years of his childhood. He spent the majority of his growing up along the rugged Atlantic coastline, speaking Irish, and throwing himself into Gaelic football. A portion of his early years were then spent living in Guyana, South America, where his obsession for music began. There, he soaked in the different sounds and culture of his new surroundings, while simultaneously discovering the music of classic western artists. On arriving home to Ireland, Honas started writing and recording his own music until it became a fundamental part of his life.

Over the pandemic, Honas began to stack up a long list of songs and worked with producers in Vienna and London. This production team boasts credits such as The 1975, Inhaler, Interpol, Florence & the Machine, La Roux, Warpaint and The Killers. Things got off to an encouraging start with the release of ‘Control’, leading to an abundance of features/reviews from international music blogs, national radio play and over 17 million streams on Spotify so far. Soon after, Honas joined a select line up of Ireland’s music treasures for a week-long collaborative winter retreat, Hibernacle where he wrote and recorded with Lisa Hannigan.
