About
The Lord works in mysterious ways. Or so the saying goes, but there is nothing mysterious about the rise of the fabulously original phenomenon that is – Oh My God! It’s The Church. Fronted by insane Pastor: The Right Reverend Michael Alabama Jackson, he and his wild collective have quickly grown into one of the most sought after live acts around, sharing stages with the likes of Mark Ronson, IDLES, and Madness and performing to hundreds of thousands of ‘sinners’ across the world, initiating their audiences into a fanatical fanbase known as The Congregation.
Fresh off the back of their biggest UK headline tour to date, including several sell-out shows and performances at prestigious venues such as London’s Jazz Cafe and Bristol’s cavernous SWX, the band’s profile continues to rise. Following the After Life tour, Oh My God! It’s The Church are now bringing their new show to festivals and events across the UK, Europe and beyond in 2025.
Raised straight out of the City of Sin itself, this is unlike any church that has come before. A show too outrageous even for Las Vegas. A church where only Rock ‘N’ Roll can save your filthy soul. Whether gracing the Main Stages at the greatest music festivals on Earth (and inHeaven), saving souls at one of their infamous underground club nights, or thrilling revellers at the most exclusive parties on the planet, Oh My God! It’s The Church is always the act everyone is talking about.
At the heart of this new religion is of course the music, with the band carving out a new genre dubbed Rock‘N’Soul, they’ve amassed rave reviews in the UK and North America and enjoyed wide airplay across the BBC, including several features and interviews on BBC6 Music. Having been likened to Tenacious D, Electric Six, and Flight of the Conchords as well as being Nominated as ‘Live Act of the Year’ by the AIF Festival Congress, this hugely entertaining act are starting to turn heads in the TV world too with several approaches for pilots about the Reverend and his Hail Marys and rumored big screen adaptations on the horizon.
The band has announced the upcoming release of their new album ‘After Life’ which features fresh singles like ‘Celebrity’- a hideously catchy punk rock explosion, that takes a typically satirical swipe at our sometimes unhealthy obsession with fame, and ‘The Shuffle’ an infectious, foot-stomping, funk explosion, that evokes both the best of Prince and modern high-production funk a la Bruno Mars.
In a world which increasingly feels like it’s falling apart and rife with division, Oh My God! It’s The Church are the sweet salvation your soul has been craving. So get ready to join The Congregation and prepare to fall in love with a band you didn’t know you needed, and the church we’ve all been waiting for.
